Leadership wrangles have rocked Kenya Women Premier League side Bunyore Starlets ahead of their away encounter against Kangemi Ladies this Saturday.

Bunyore Starlets FC chair Moses Mabwa announced that there are changes in the leadership structure agreed upon in an officials’ meeting held Tuesday, claiming that the club chief executive officer Zachariah Amakhang'a has been suspended over alleged “sexual harassment against some players”, claims the latter has rubbished.

"We have suspended Zachariah Amakhang'a over sexual harassment against some players," Mabwa stated. "Bunyore Starlets has a constitution, we abide by FKF regulations and there will be no sacred cows for anyone found breaking the rules must face disciplinary actions," Mabwa added.

Mr Mabwa went ahead to claim that chief executive officer Amakhang'a has been using some money the club receives from well-wishers to lure some players,"

"The vision of this team is to nurture talents not to exploit players," he said.

Mabwa said that a player victim, had given evidence of sexual harassment and the club had forwarded the case to FKF for further investigation.

However, in a rejoinder, Zacharia Amakhang'a refuted Mabwa claims saying he was still in the club performing his ‘normal duties’.

"I have just signed a cheque now for the chairman to withdraw money for the team's travel to Nairobi to play Kangemi Ladies, if I am no longer official where's the suspension letter?" he posed.

Amakhang'a refuted sexual harassment claims saying if they were true he would have been reported to police.

"There are people who are hell-bent to taint my name and I will not be cowed by this propaganda,” he said.

Mr Amakhang'a said he is the founder of Bunyore Starlets FC which he said is registered as Bunyore Starlets Self-help group with 12 members.

"The team is under the self-help group so how can one suspend me from my own group?" he questioned.

Bunyore Starlets FC who rank sixth with nine points on the KWPL table travelled to Nairobi ahead of their league match against Kangemi Ladies FC set for today.
