Bandari FC head coach Bernard Mwalala has repulsed reports linking their first choice goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo for a potential transfer to Tanzanian giants Yanga SC.
Yanga are believed to have approached Bandari CEO Edward Oduor over a move for the 2018 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Golden Glove Award winner but Mwalala is adamant the 24-year-old will stay on.
“As a club we don’t have any intentions of selling Shikalo and as far as I am not aware there have not been such talks. This is not true,” Mwalala said.
The Dockers got their new season off to a flyer, defeating the KPL champions Gor Mahia FC 2-1 and will look to make it two wins in two when they visit Sofapaka FC in Machakos on Sunday.
Sofapaka won their opening clash against Mount Kenya United and Mwalala believes they will pose another tough opposition for his side.
“We all know how good Sofapaka is. It will be a difficult match but we are going for a win. If we cannot have all the three points we will accept a point because it’s another difficult task we have,” he added.
Asked whether he will make some changes to his squad, the former Nzoia Sugar boss said ‘you don’t change a winning team”.
