Shikanda threatens Fifa action over Otieno

AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda is adamant that Duncan Otieno, who dumped the club barely two weeks after allegedly penning a deal with them, is their player despite his move to Lusaka Dynamos.

Shikanda has at the same time threatened to take legal action over the matter, with the player said to have inked a deal with the Zambian side despite initially penning a two-year deal with Ingwe.

“Duncan is our player for the next two years and anything that goes against the contract (which he signed with us)is not the truth.

I have just read about this on the social media, that Otieno has penned down a contract with some club in Zambia,” he said.  “If that is the case then it is breaching the rules of transfers for the so called club. We will sue them at FIFA since that is incorrect,” warned Shikanda.

Otieno had initially turned out for Nkana FC in the Zambian Premier League, before sealing a return to the big cats, but before ink could dry on paper he went back to Zambia, inking a deal with the Dynamos.

Ingwe are aiming for an improved performance in the new season, under Czech Republic coach Tomas Trucha, as they hope to end a 22-year wait for the coveted league title.
