Speaking after arriving in the residential training camp in Miramas, Ojwang said there are high expectations from the fans after the team’s impressive campaign this year which saw them secure a slot in the HSBC World Rugby Series, after a season in the cold.
He however says they have the quality to deliver, which is helping them manage the pressure.
“It is true we have high expectations from our fans and that is something that we know as a team but we are ready to handle the pressure because we know we have the right team to deliver good results,” said Ojwang.
Ojwang also said they are quickly adjusting to the high temperatures in France, after the Nairobi camp.
“The temperatures are very high here, that’s why we travelled early enough so that we can acclimatize, that will be very useful to the team,” stated the Nakuru RFC star.
Ojwang was called up to the final 12-man Shujaa squad to the Paris Olympics following his impressive displays in the Challenger Sevens Series in Munich – Germany and Madrid – Spain, a form he sustained at the residential training camp at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.
Shujaa is pooled alongside Argentina, Samoa and Australia for the Paris party.
