Sofapaka boss Baraza hails new signing Bodo

Sofapaka head coach John Baraza has welcomed the signing of defender Michael Bodo from Kariobangi Sharks.

The former Thika United player has inked a three-year deal with club that will see him play for the 2009 champions for the next three seasons.

“The player has the experience and the energy we need in that position, it’s a position that requires a lot of energy and commitment which I feel he has.

He is a calm player who is very disciplined and has very good crosses that can assist our strikers with goals,” he said. “We will still be required to strengthen the defence and the midfield before the new season begins.”

Bodo becomes the third signing for Batoto ba Mungu having already signed midfielder Roy Okal from Mathare United and goalkeeper Kevin Omondi from league rivals Wazito and Baraza insists they are still keen to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season

“It’s going to be a very competitive season, all the top teams are strengthening now that the league has a sponsor, we have to keep up with them if we have to fight for the title and other trophies,” he added.

Sofapaka finished tenth last season with 31 points from 23 games
