Song, dance at Kalyet Training Camp as Olympic bronze medallist Faith Cherotich returns

It was song and dance at Kalyet Athletics Training Camp in
Kipkelion West constituency during the homecoming and welcoming ceremony of bronze
medallist in the just concluded Paris Olympics, Faith Cherotich, who shoe in
the women’s 3,000m steeplechase
Cherotich received a heroic welcome from the fans, villagers
and fellow athletes at the camp.
Cherotich said the hot weather conditions in Paris was a
challenge but they managed to compete until to emerge third in the race to
take home bronze.
She said her focus now is the forthcoming races including
the various diamond leagues.
Cherotich expressed her satisfaction with the progress she's making so far on the track and exudes confidence that better things lie
ahead for her.
Bernard Rono, the Kalyet Athletics Camp coach said the
intense pre-preparations before the Paris Olympics enabled Cherotich to shine
in Paris.
On his part, Cherotich's father Joseph Keter could not hide
his joy following the achievement of his daughter.
Keter said apart from Cherotich, her siblings were also
doing well in athletics and hoped that soon, they would also make it to the
international stage.
