Soy United have strengthened their promotion charge in the 2025/26 FKF National Super League after confirming the signing of attacking midfielder Moses Shikanda on a permanent deal.

The 26-year-old becomes the club’s third mid-season acquisition as the Blue Eagles continue to reinforce their squad during the ongoing transfer window.

Shikanda joins Soy United after mutually parting ways with FKF Premier League side Shabana FC in September 2025, bringing with him valuable top-flight experience, creativity, and attacking depth.

His arrival is viewed as a strategic move as the club sharpens its focus on securing one of the automatic promotion slots.

An alumnus of Kakamega School, Shikanda expressed his delight at joining Soy United, describing the move as an important step in his career.

“I am elated to join this promising club,” he said. “Soy United is an ambitious and fast-rising side that is keen on talent development.

“I am determined to help the team achieve its set targets while also continuing to grow my career.” He said.

The attacking midfielder previously featured for Kariobangi Sharks, where he spent two and a half seasons and played a key role in the 2018 FKF Shield-winning squad.

He enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League, scoring eight goals, before reuniting with former Soy United head coach Peter Okidi at Shabana FC in January 2025.

Shikanda is no stranger to the Soy United setup, having faced the club twice during the 2022 FKF National Division League campaign while turning out for Green Commandos SC. His familiarity with the league and competitive environment is expected to ease his transition into the squad.

After six months out of competitive action, Shikanda is eager to make an impact. “I have been out for a while since leaving Shabana, and this opportunity is very important to me,” he said.

“It gives me the platform to revive my career, regain my form, and meet the competitive demands of the club.”

Soy United currently sit sixth on the NSL table with 32 points, just five behind leaders Migori Youth, whom they held to a goalless draw over the weekend.

With momentum building, the club is firmly targeting a top-three finish and automatic promotion, and Shikanda’s signing could prove pivotal in that pursuit.
