Stars to miss Avire for Egypt clash

Harambee Stars will be without striker John Avire when they lock horns with Egyptian Pharaohs in a 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier tomorrow.

According to Football Kenya Federation (FKF), Avire who was two months ago caught in a storm over unprocedural exit from Sofapaka FC will miss the clash due to “personal commitments”.

Meanwhile, Boniface Muchiri is expected to link up with the team today. Muchiri is the only player not to have joined the camp of the call-ups.

The team continued polishing the rough edges ahead of tomorrow’s clash set for Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria, Egypt, starting at 7pm.

The Stars will then face Togo in their second qualifying match on Monday next week at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Meanwhile, Kenya have been handed a boost after t emerged that Egypt’s star-man Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of the game with an injury.
