Nzoia Club's head coach,
Steve Biko, lauded his players for their commendable performance despite a 2-0
loss against AFC Leopards.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Biko expressed
satisfaction with his team's effort but noted that they missed opportunities
which ultimately favoured their opponents.
"The match was solid.
Our strategy was effective, and we successfully contained our opponents. While
our scoring opportunities weren't crystal clear, they were present.
Nonetheless, our opponents proved formidable," said Biko.
The coach further revealed
that the team's defeat stemmed from lapses in the defence, allowing their
opponents to capitalize and score.
"Our defence remains a
concern; more resilience could have prevented our opponents from scoring.
Both goals were conceded within a mere 10-minute span, notably in the final
phase of the game," the coach stated.
Currently, Nzoia Club sits at the bottom of the league table with 16 points after completing 23 matches, whereas their counterparts AFC Leopards hold the seventh position with 34 points from the same number of matches.
