Stop holding FKF at ransom, let polls continue Kenneth Rutto

Baringo branch incoming chairman Kenneth Rutto has dismissed a move by aspirants who failed to present their papers for the forthcoming Football Kenya Federation(FKF) elections to stop holding the federation and football at ransom noting that it is the careers of hundreds of youths at stake.

Speaking in Eldama Ravine town, Baringo County, Rutto whose candidature as well that of his allies is set to sail through unopposed in the FKF Baringo branch elections after other aspirants led by  local coach James Bunei and Samson Cherop failed to present their papers to the electoral board said that time was nigh for Kenya to put the matter of elections  to rest and instead forge ahead.

Bunei and Cherop had shown appetite for the Baringo branch Chairman and Treasurer seats respectively but their move not to submit their papers has left their fate hanging in the balance.

The Branch elections are set for September 19.

Rutto’s calls come barely days after FKF President Nick Mwendwa called on those who failed to present their papers for elections to allow the sport to forge ahead instead of endless court battles.

The elections have twice been annulled by the Sports Dispute Tribunal.
