It has been a difficult season for coach Collins Tiego and his
Kangemi Ladies FC after losing all league games except one, and on Monday they suffered
another humiliating 8-1 defeat by Bunyore Starlets.
The defeat meant that Kangemi Ladies have been relegated from the
Kenya Women Premier League, but coach Collins Tiego is optimistic about the
future of his team.
In the post match interview, Tiego said he knew from the
beginning that his intentions were to prepare a stronger team for the future.
"You cannot say Kangemi Ladies is an experienced
team," he began.
"All I sought to do throughout the season is help the ladies
gain experience as I prepare them for the future," he added.
Kangemi Ladies had started the game well against Bunyore
Starlets by scoring in the first minute through their Striker Daisy
Cherop.
However, their lead was short lived as Bunyore quickly
equalized and went ahead to score eight goals sealing their massive victory.
The Kangemi Ladies tactician attributed the failure of his team
to guard their lead to inexperience.
"I have a promising squad; we had our good moments on the pitch but lack of experience made it difficult for us.
"We will regroup and start planning for next season and
I am confident we will come back stronger," he said.
