Tusker back on top despite draw against Nzoia
The champions dislodged Kakamega Homeboyz at the summit to lead on goal difference with three games to go until the end of the season.
Tusker benefited from a recalculation of the league standings following Mathare United's relegation with Homeboyz disadvantaged.
Robert Matano's men went ahead in the first half through Ibrahim Joshua before Nzoia scored two quick goals in a span of four minutes turn the score board around.
The Tanzanian Joshua scored again to level matters with a 74th minute goal to rescue a point and put Tusker back in the top of the table with a superior goal difference.
Their draw comes after their main title rivals Kakamega Homeboyz were also held to a one-all draw yesterday against Gor Mahia.
Some kilometers away at Kasaranai Annex ground, Bandari FC extended their fine form winning by 0-2 against Kariobangi Sharks to pile more pressure to Tusker and Kakamega Homeboyz.
First half goals from Abdallah Hassan and Brian Odera were enough for Anthony Modo Kimani to collect his ninth win since taking over at the dockyard.
Sharks came back in the second half a more energized side but they could not secure a point from a well organised Bandari.
With three matches to the end of the season, Bandari who sits third are only four points behind Tusker and Kakamega Homeboyz putting the title race more open.
In another match in Kakamega's Bukhungu Stadium, Vihiga Bullets and Ulinzi Stars share spoils in a 0-0 draw.
