Ulinzi Warriors out to maintain winning run
Ulinzi Warriors head coach William Balozi is confident his side will continue their unbeaten streak in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) when they face Lakeside in Kisumu on Saturday.
The soldiers have won all four of their opening matches of the men’s premier league but may face the challenge of having to play outdoors at Manyatta Primary Arab School, according to Balozi.
“Playing outdoor games is a challenge for us but I know the game will be nice even though Lakeside are stubborn at their home court and it won’t be easy for us,” he said.
Ulinzi so far have beaten Blades, Eldonets, KCA-University and Umoja while Lakeside have lost their first four matches against EMYBA, Thunder, Eldonets and KPA.
Meanwhile, EMYBA men’s head coach Abel Nson who doubles up as Storms women’s basketball head coach says they are still trying to get some chemistry as a team ahead of their match against Thunder on Saturday.
“We have a new team and we are trying to jelly. We feel pretty confident on games we are playing as we keep building on team cohesion best on the new system we are trying to apply this season,” he said.
EMYBA will be playing Thunder on Saturday at Nyayo Gymnasium before taking on Umoja at the same venue on Sunday.
On their side Storms women will be facing KU ORYX on Sunday at Nyayo Gymnasium.
EMYBA have so far played three matches winning two against Terror and Lakeside and losing against KPA.
On their side Storms have played one match against Strathmore which they won.
