Ulinzi Starlets lethal striker Fasila Adhiambo believes they will defeat the Police Bullets FC in the FKF Women’s Cup semi final, their fine run in the Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) this season notwithstanding.

The holders Ulinzi, Kibera Girls Soccer, Zetech Sparks and Police stormed to the semis after winning their respective quarter finals matches over the weekend.

At the Dandora Stadium, holders Ulinzi thrashed Bungoma based Milima Queens 2-0 thanks to goals from midfielder Everline Juma and Adhiambo in the 26th and 43rd minutes, to make a date with the Beldine Odemba-coached side.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Adhiambo expressed her happiness for storming to the semifinal spot, giving a warning to Police to expect fireworks.

“It was a very nice and entertaining match. Milima is a tough side although they don’t take part in any competitive league. We are happy that we have qualified for the semis, but know it will not be the a walk in the park against Police.

"However, we are the champions and I believe we have what it takes to defeat the them and qualify for the final. We only need to be focused enough and prepare well," said Adhiambo.

According to Adhiambo, Ulinzi knows their priorities clearly at the current stage of the season.

"For now we have dropped the ambition of winning the FKF Premier League because we are placed third on the log with 29 points, 14 behind the leaders Police. Clearly we can’t win it and that’s why we have shifted our focus fully in retaining our FKF Cup title,” elucidated Adhiambo.

In other matches, Kibera Soccer Ladies knocked out fellow FKF WPL side Bungoma Queens after beating them 3-0 to qualify for the last four.

The match pitting Police Bullets and National Women Super League (NWSL) side Kangemi Ladies ended in 4-1 victory for the Bullets.

At the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, FKF – WPL side Zetech Sparks hammered Division One side Kisiwa Starlets 8-0 to seal a semi final berth.
