Zetech University rugby team 'Zetech Oaks' are the Kenya Rugby Union Nationwide League 2023/24 season champions after emerging victorious against the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) Marines with a 31-13 win in a final held at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on Saturday.

The road to the final was paved with significant victories for both sides. Zetech University secured their spot in the final by defeating Eldoret-based newly formed Project 61 Rugby Club 23-09 in the semifinals to mark their second stint in the championship league. On the other hand, TUM Marines advanced to the final after a 26-23 win against Kakamega's Sigalagala Pirates RFC.

The game was marked by intense physicality and strategic brilliance, with both teams leaving everything on the field in their quest for glory.  Zetech went to the break leading 13-10, and the second half saw Zetech dominate proceedings scoring back-to-back tries to extend their lead, Zetech held on to win the match 31-13 at full time.

Both Zetech University and TUM Marines have earned promotion to the KRU Championship for the 2024/25 season replacing the relegated Shamas Foundation and Kabarak University.
