CAF Women’s CL: Tshabalala toasts Sundowns defence
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Jerry Tshabalala has applauded the quality of his defence, saying it will propel them to winning the CAF Women’s Champions League title.
Sundowns are yet to concede a goal at the continental championship, defeating Vihiga Queens 1-0 in their opener and overcoming River Angels by a similar scoreline in their second.
That leaves them in prime position to reach the semi-final, with the South Africans now needing just a draw against Moroccan side ASFAR in their final Group B assignment on Friday.
“I have no worries about my defence because I know is the best so far in the tournament. I have Bambanani Mbane who used to play Dinamo Minsk in Belarus as well as the skipper Zanele Nhlapho was signed from a Cyprus Club. With the solid defence I only need to sharpen my strikers and come Friday, we will defeat Asfar,” Tshabalala said.
The other match at the 30 June Stadium on Friday will see Kenya’s Vihiga Queens take on River Angels with both matches kicking off at 5PM East Africa Time.
