Former Rift Valley RC George Natembeya formally joins DAP-K
Immediate former Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya has officially joined the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K).
This as the party on Thursday also received a host of leaders from Trans Nzoia including Trans Nzoia Woman Representative Janet Nangabo, who was elected on a Jubilee party ticket.
The leaders were received by Defence Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and other party officials.
Speaking during the event, the leaders pledged to popularise DAP-K and the Azimio la Umoja movement ahead of the August general elections.
“Tuwache mambo ya kutisha watu na kuleta siasa ya vita ya watu kupigana na kumwaga damu…ikuwe ni ideas ambayo itatransform maisha ya watu wetu, hiyo ndio tunataka,” said Natembeya.
CS Wamalwa, on his part, said: “Sote tumejua serikali ya Azimio ndio hii, tunaingia serikalini na wao wamepoteza network…msiwe na wasiwasi.”
Natembeya previously reaffirmed that his resolve to contest for Trans Nzoia’sgubernatorial seat at the August polls remains unwavering despite protests from a faction of local politicians he crossed paths with during his time as police boss.
Natembeya’s January 12 decision to resign from his National Police Service (NPS) post was met with mixed reaction by Kenyans and politicians alike, with Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Tiaty MP William Kamket being among his most vocal critics.
