Pop star Katy Perry has come out claiming she is a victim of social media pressure. The Fireworks hit-maker, who has previously been known to put her life in the public limelight, says that she is now under pressure to share her every move online. According to an exclusive by Refinery 29, the pop star claims that social media platforms such as Instagram, and Twitter paint a clear picture of what she terms “decline of civilization.” “We buy clothing and products or pose a certain way or go to an event to get a picture – it’s not good for us as a society. I think it’s actually the decline of civilization if we’re going extreme about it.’ The Hey Hey Hey singer has 68 million followers on Instagram and 108 million on Twitter. Katy Perry added that she tries to find a balance with how much she shares online and feels that she is a victim like everybody else. Prior to this revelation, Katy Perry had come under heavy storm online only a few hours earlietover claims that she had undergone plastic surgery. “I’ve done lasers and got (filler) injections under my eyes for the hollowing, which I’d recommend for everyone who wants a solution for their dark circles, but all of my assets are real,” said Katy, in response to the claims. The rumors came forth after social media users noticed that she had changed a lot, based on her previous and current photos. However, it is not all storm at the Wide Awake star’s castle as emerging reports indicate that she is set to co-judge with the likes of Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan in the reboot of American idol; a deal which will see her pocket a cool $25million dollar (Ksh 2, 571, 375, 000).
