"We were robbed!" Bidco coach Akhulia rages over Gor penalty
Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has slammed a late penalty call that cost his side during their 1-1 draw against Gor Mahia FC at the Kasarani Stadium yesterday.
Referee Nyabera Libese awarded Gor the penalty in the 86th minute after Francis Oduor brought down Samuel Onyango in the area.
Onyango himself stepped up to convert it and rescue a point for Gor who had been trailing to that point since the opening half, and much to the displeasure of Akhulia.
“The game was not bad but the referee robbed us by giving out a dubious penalty. It's sad that we are going back to the dark old days when referees used to decide the outcome of matches.
"This is the third match he is doing this to us. Last season we played against KCB and he awarded them a penalty and he did the same in our match against Wazito,” Akhulia charged.
Jacob Onyango had put Bidco in front in the 27th minute before the late drama unfolded.
“When you get the videos you will see clearly that it was not a penalty. We cannot waste our time by appealing because the outcome will not change. We have to move on and plan for our coming matches," he added.
Bidco will be facing Gor again in their next match but Akhulia says it won't be a personal vendetta come Sunday when they play the former champions.
The result left Bidco 11th with 17 points while Gor are third on the log with 26 points.
