Nzoia Sugar searching for ‘solid defender’
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side Nzoia Sugar FC have their lenses across the league in search for a ‘proven defender’ to solve their leaky defense woes, interim coach Peter Gin has said.
Nzoia have had a leaky defense in club history which has conceded 22 goals in sixteen matches played so far in top tier league.
Interim tactician Peter Gin now says they are moving with speed to fix the problem before it’s too late.
“We want to beef up our defense, as much as we have sharpened our attacking department and ensured that we get more goals but our defense has to be fixed. We need a proven defender to help us at the back,” the soft spoken coach told Citizen Digital.
Gin adds that: “We have a great team, we have always played well but at the end of the day, results matter. We have just been unlucky this term but I can assure you things are going to change.
We need to strike but defend well at the same time. We are working on this seriously. We have to improve to avoid relegation worries.”
Nzoia have been on a torrid downward spiral as they have recorded seven defeats, eight draws and a win this season leaving them to battle relegation threat.
The Millers are placed 16th on the log and they host league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz at their Sudi backyard in their next league assignment next month.
