Kahata seals Police FC switch
Kenyan international Francis Kahata has joined Police FC on a one-year deal, the FKF Premier League has confirmed.
Negotiations for the deal had been completed earlier in the week with Police only awaiting the player to be released by his Ethiopian club Sidama Coffee.
The former Gor Mahia FC and Simba SC midfielder becomes the latest star acquisition for Police, who have shown great ambition with their transfer activity.
Team manager George Maelo says they are pleased to sign the creative midfielder who they have been eyeing for a long time.
“He is a top talent that will add value to our team; he is very created and has the winning mentality that we require as a team. We expect to see the quality he has been showing to the world to continue with us,” Maelo said.
Maelo also said they are in the final process of signing former AFC Leopards striker Elvis Rupia who has been training with them in the past one week since leaving Saudi Arabian side Bisha FC.
“Very soon we will make an announcement but so far talks are going on very well. Hee is a top talent that any team with ambition to do well would want to have in their squad,” Maelo added.
Police are currently placed ninth on the league standings with 21 points from 16 games
