Two people critically injured after bandits attack village in Baringo

  • The perpetrators of the attack, suspected to be Pokot bandits, ambushed the village at around 6am, forcing locals to flee for their lives.
  • The injured locals are reported to have been rescued by security agencies who responded to the attack.

Tension is high in Lamoiwe village of Muchongoi ward, Baringo County, after bandits on Saturday laid an early ambush and indiscriminately shot at people, critically injuring two in the process.

According to reports, the perpetrators of the attack, suspected to be Pokot bandits, ambushed the village at around 6am, forcing locals to flee for their lives.

The injured locals are reported to have been rescued by security agencies who responded to the attack.

They are currently receiving treatment at the Baringo referral hospital in Kabarnet. 

It is still uncertain if the attackers managed to steal any livestock during the ambush.
