Snake temporarily disrupts Kalonzo Musyoka’s meeting of Ukambani leaders

A snake temporarily caused a moment of chaos during a meeting of leaders from the Ukambani region held at Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s Yatta farm, Machakos County, on Saturday.

In videos seen by Citizen Digital, a section of leaders are seen scampering for safety after the snake appeared from an unknown direction.

Some of the leaders are however seen smashing the snake with stones, thereby killing it, as one of them thereafter picks it up and takes it away from the tent.

Kalonzo is hosting Ukambani leaders allied to him presumably in a bid to consolidate his support in the region ahead of the August general elections.

The battle for supremacy pitting the Wiper leader against the region's governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) playing out prominently in the public gallery in recent days.

The governors previously played downKalonzo's meeting insisting that any engagement with the region’s leadrrs must be conducted in a public venue.
