The DFINITY Foundation, in partnership with the ICP HUBS
Network, has announced the launch of the World Computer Hacker League
2025 (WCHL25) — a four-month-long global hackathon set to run
from July to October.
The competition invites developers worldwide to build
production-ready applications on the Internet Computer blockchain, with registration
now officially open.
Unlike traditional hackathons
that push developers to churn out quick proof-of-concepts, WCHL25 provides
participants with an extended timeline and access to a robust support
ecosystem.
Weekly mentorship from blockchain experts, technical
workshops, and office hours will be part of the package, equipping teams with
the resources and guidance needed to bring viable products to life.
“WCHL gives developers what
they've been asking for: real time to focus and build, real support from
experts, and real pathways to growth,” said Emilio Canessa, Director of Global
Adoption at the DFINITY Foundation.
“We’re not just running a hackathon — we’re creating the
environment developers need to succeed.”
Participants will move through a
structured four-stage competition: the Qualification Round, National Round,
Regional Round, and finally, the Global Grand Finale,
where top projects from every continent will battle it out for honors and
prizes.
Submissions will be judged on technical execution, user
experience, and real-world applicability by a panel of industry experts and key
figures from the Internet Computer ecosystem.
The WCHL25 also taps into the
global reach of the ICP HUBS Network, spanning North and South America, Europe,
Africa, and Asia, to ensure a broad and diverse developer base.
