Piggycell, the Web3-native platform turning everyday charging stations into blockchain-powered earning hubs, has announced a major strategic boost: full support from the ICP HUBS Network.
With a user base
of 3.5 million and 100,000 devices already deployed, Piggycell is set to
accelerate its decentralized mission globally, starting with South Korea.
At
the core of this expansion is Piggycell’s integration of Internet Computer’s
blockchain technology—specifically its decentralized canisters and “Reverse
Gas” model—into its portable power bank network.
These tools enable
the platform to handle large-scale transactions while offering users reward
points that can be exchanged for Internet Computer-based PGC tokens.
“This
is a major leap for Piggycell. The
Internet Computer's unique features, including the 'Reverse Gas' model and
powerful canister smart contracts, make it exceptionally well-suited for
managing our large-scale transaction loads efficiently,” said John Lee, Founder of Piggycell.
“With support from ICP
HUBS Network, we're becoming one of the key applications within the ICP
ecosystem while maintaining a seamless user experience.”
Piggycell’s
tech-driven expansion is already taking shape in South Korea, where
distribution agreements have been signed with heavyweights like Yanolja and
Ediya Coffee, Korea's largest coffee chain.
The move is
expected to significantly increase the company’s physical footprint and
demonstrate the real-world potential of decentralized physical infrastructure.
The
platform’s architecture rejects traditional, centralized data storage in favor
of blockchain-based canisters.
This ensures user
reward activities—such as point accumulation and token exchanges—are managed
transparently and securely via smart contracts.
With
a closed beta test (CBT) and phased partner rollout planned throughout Q2 and
Q3, Piggycell is positioning itself as a cornerstone of the DePIN
(Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks) movement, where Web3 meets
tangible utility.
