Travel Start-up Triply receives Ksh.65M boost from accelerator

Kenyan Travel Tech Startup Triply.co has received a major boost after start-up accelerator Y Combinator invested $500,000 (Ksh.65.7 million) in the business, marking Triply the accelerator's first travel tech investment in Africa.

Y Combinator, the world’s leading accelerator famous for supporting startups like Airbnb, Reddit & Dropbox, has invested the funds meant to accelerate Triply's growth in Kenya's vibrant travel sector.

Triply, a player in Kenya's travel tech field aims at improving travel experiences for both businesses and travellers by providing solutions to various travel stakeholders, including tour operators, transport providers, accommodation providers, and experience providers. 

Triply joins joins the ranks of Flutterwave & paystack who were also accelerated by Y Combinator. 

With access to Y Combinator's resources and global network, Triply plans to offer solutions that make travel operations easier and enhance customer experiences.

"We're excited to work with Y-combinator. This investment not only cements our position as the go to solution for businesses and travelers but it also allows us to build solutions that Kenyan and African market really need,” Triply Founder and CEO Peter Wachira said in a statement. 

Wachira added that the start-up will use this investment to develop products, expand operations, and partner with others in the travel industry to give travellers seamless experiences.
