100 kilograms of bhang netted in Kakamega

Police have netted 100 kilograms of bhang in Kakamega County.

Officers from Matungu Police Station flagged down a private vehicle at a roadblock, but the driver defied the order.

Police said that the driver went over the spikes that had been set up across the road.

In response, the officers initiated a high-speed pursuit towards Mayoni in efforts to arrest the suspected trafficker.

Upon stopping the vehicle and conducting a search, they discovered a consignment of Cannabis sativa, weighing approximately 100 kilograms.

The narcotics were seized and secured as exhibits at Matungu Police Station.

Of the two occupants, one was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody.

However, his accomplice managed to flee and remains at large as police initiate investigations.
