Bahati: Seven children hospitalised with stomach complications after eating mushrooms

A parent to one of the children said his child was discharged on Tuesday night, while seven others are still recuperating in hospital.
The children are said to have plucked the mushrooms from a nearby farm and gone to one of their parent's houses to have a meal, after which they developed complications.
The parent, who sought anonymity, said, "The children ate the mushrooms before super."
The eight children developed stomach discomfort and were rushed to a local dispensary, then they were referred to Maili Kumi Hospital before being taken to Bahati Subcounty Hospital.
There has been a spike in cases of suspected food poisoning across the country with the latest incidents being reported in schools.
Two schools in Kakamega being closed indefinitely after students developed stomach discomfort.
At Mukumu Girls' High School three students have succumbed, with about 100 students being hospitalised.
Butere Boys High School was also closed indefinitely over suspected food poisoning cases.
