Bomet woman found dead inside house, police detain son

Police in Konoin sub-county, Bomet county, have launched an investigation into the death of a 61-year-old woman.

The deceased, identified as Elizabeth Yegon, was found dead inside her house at Monkokwo village in Besiobei sub-location on Thursday.

Besoibei sub-location chief Godfrey Kipruto confirmed the incident.

The deceased had visible injuries on her body in what is suspected to be murder.

Police were informed of the incident and visited the scene.

Meanwhile, police have detained one of Yegon's sons for interrogation.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Kapkatet Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
