Busia: Form 3 student killed in Teso South, truck driver on the run

A Form Three student from Father Okodoi Secondary School in Teso South, Busia County, has died after being hit by a trailer while heading to school.
Another male student, also in Form Three, was injured in the incident.
The Thursday morning accident occurred at Lukolis, as the students were walking to school.
The driver of the trailer, heading from Busia towards Malaba, lost control and struck the students from behind.
The female student died instantly, while the male student sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital.
The driver of the long-haul truck fled the scene immediately after the accident.
In response, angry locals torched the trailer, to protest the rising number of road accidents in the area.
