Operators of entertainment joints in Embu county have been urged to stick to the rules, including hours of operation, as festivities reach fever pitch ahead of Christmas.

This, as the county has beefed up security.

County Commissioner Jack Obuo on Saturday said all police stations, posts and administration offices will be fully operational and manned throughout the festive season.

"We will ensure effective and visible security patrols across the county to ensure people go on about their business undisturbed," he said.

Obuo urged residents to be law-abiding as more patrols are conducted on major highways including Nairobi-Meru and Embu-Kiritiri Highways.

In absence of roadblocks, he said police will mount strategic patrols in collaboration with NTSA to ensure motorists abide by the laid down rules.

He added that they had roped in boda boda operators to be road safety ambassadors.

Entertainment joint operators were warned against selling alcohol to minors.
