Embu residents demand action against contractors doing substandard work
While speaking during a stakeholders participation in Embu town on Friday, they noted that some projects are either ‘shoddy’, while others stall.
Embu County Executive Committee Member in charge of land and physical planning Raymond Kinyua said the county has made affordable housing and roads the key priority areas.
He acknowledged the grievances of residents, adding that some contractors would be blacklisted for failing to deliver in good time and failing to meet required standards.
earlier in the week, in a stern message to landowners allegedly encroaching on government land within Runyenjes market, Governor Cecily Mbarire issued a warning emphasizing the need to protect County government-owned parcels.
She also highlighted the urgency of replacing outdated pit latrines in the fast-growing markets, pointing out that the county already possesses land in the Kigaa area meant for the construction of the sewer.
