Family in agony as kin's body goes missing in a mortuary in Nyandarua
A family in Nyandarua County is in distress after the body of their loved one went missing in a mortuary.
Confusion
rocked Nyahururu County Hospital Mortuary as family and friends
gathered to receive the body of 72-year-old Raphael Ndung’u Ndisanjo,
only to be told that it was missing.
The septuagenarian, who died
on Monday last week, was set to be laid to rest at his home in
Ngai-Ndeithia village of Leshau, Ndaragwa.
Mourners, drawn from
Naivasha, Embu and other parts of the country, stood shocked at the
premises after it dawned on them that the send-off had been brought to a
halt.
"The body presented to us by the morgue attendant was
not that of our loved one," his widow Rachael Wanjiru told Citizen
Digital. Following the mix up, the planning committee postponed burial
plans.
The matter was reported to police in a bid to unravel the mystery behind the
missing body. Officers from Nyahururu Police Station are questioning the
mortuary attendant.
