Grade Seven Pupil drowns in river while swimming with friends

A swimming adventure on Sunday morning turned tragic after a 13 -year-old boy drowned in Chepkulo river in Bomet.
Chepalungu sub-county police boss Phanton Analo confirmed the incident – noting that the deceased, Bethwel Kiprono, was a Grade Seven Pupil at Kamundugi primary school.
The boy, whose body is yet to be retrieved, was in the company of other boys when he drowned.
“The other boys tried to save him, but he drowned before they could help him,” said Analo.
Residents and local divers have been combing the waters in search of the body since Sunday.
