Kakamega: Demos as cases on insecurity on the rise in Khwisero

Residents in Ekonjero, Khwisero demonstrate over cases of insecurity

Locals in Khwisero, Kakamega took to the streets over rising cases of insecurity.

Carrying placards, residents said that the insecurity situation in the area has claimed lives, with property of unknown value stolen.

Locals marched from Ekonjero market to the sub county headquarters, seeking audience with the security department.

They accused the security team of laxity, demanding for the immediate transfer of the police officers.

“We will not relent until families that lost their loved ones get justice for their kin,” a resident said.

The latest incident saw 44-year-old Mary Kangu killed in her house on Monday night.

 Kangu was killed in cold blood at her home in Ekonjero village. A sombre mood has engulfed the home with mourners yet to come to terms with the unfolding event.
