A family in Lugari, Kakamega County, is in mourning following the death of their kin in Qatar.

According to Adrian Inziani and his wife Eunice Seru, their son Rodgers Indako died after the four-storey building he was living in in al Mansoura, Doha, collapsed.

Indako’s parents said he had been working in Qatar for four years before the tragedy happened.

Inziani and Seru said they had last spoken with their son last week on Wednesday.

Seru said, “We had discussed about plans for him to send payment for his child’s school fees.”

Inziani said, “We first got a report that the building where he was living had collapsed on Wednesday last week, but were not told about our son’s state. We tried to contact the embassy on both sides but were unsuccessful. It is only days later on Saturday that we were told that he did not make it.”

Indako’s widow, Linet Museni, said he was supposed to travel to Kenya in June to visit the family.

“What has happened is unfortunate. My husband left the country in search of greener pastures to be able to take care of me and our children and he was supposed to come back in June but now he will be coming back as a corpse. It’s extremely painful,” she said.

The family has made a piea for the government to intervene and help repatriate the body to Kenya.
