Kerugoya: Three pregnant candidates sit KCSE exams from hospital
A total of 13,467 candidates in Kirinyaga County began their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations on Friday morning.
Out of this number, 7,068 are girls while 6,399 are boys – as the county had more girls than boys sitting for the national examination.
Kirinyaga-central Deputy county commissioner Daniel Ndege also noted that three pregnant candidates are writing their exams at the Kerugoya hospital, while two male students are sitting for their papers at the Kerugoya GK Prison.
“I can confirm to you that one has given birth today morning and the other two are yet to confirm,” Ndege said.

Central, Ndia, Mwea-East, Mwea-West and Gichugu, witnessed the opening of exam containers.
Kirinyaga County Commissioner Mr. Moses Ivuto urged the stakeholders to provide a conducive environment for all the candidates during this examination period.
