Man lynched for stealing two kilograms of maize flour

One person has been lynched by a mob in Kwale County for stealing maize flour.
Police said the suspect was subjected to mob justice in Kidomaya village in Lungalunga.
The suspect, who was beaten to a pulp, is alleged to have broken into a home in the area.
Police officers added that the man died while being rushed to hospital.
“We rescued him from the mob and rushed him to hospital. He was however pronounced dead on arrival at the medical facility.”
Irate residents pounced on the suspect with kicks and blows after he was caught stealing.
“We recovered two kilograms of maize flour from the suspect. We also found ten kilograms of maize,” a resident said.
Investigations have been launched into the incident.
