Man on the run after allegedly stabbing 60-year-old to death in Nyamira

Nyamira South police boss Moses Kirong said the suspect, identified as Dan Nyangwaya, is reported to have stabbed the sexagenarian in West Mugirango, Nyamira South before fleeing to an unknown location.

"A vehicle stalled in the area. The driver, Dennis Ombati Morara, called his father Francis Okongo Morara (now deceased) to come to his rescue. The old man showed up with his two other sons and seven neighbors," police said.

The suspect, who was not part of the rescue mission, arrived at the scene much later demanding that he be paid Ksh.50 shillings for services not offered.

"When his demands were not met, he smashed the vehicle's windscreen before stabbing the deceased. He then stabbed one of the victim's son, leaving him with serious injuries," police told Citizen Digital.

The family of the victim, Francis Okongo Morara, is now calling for justice. The injured is receiving treatment at Kisii Referral Hospital with the body of the deceased taken to Nyamira Hospital mortuary.
