Bodaboda riders from Opapo in Rongo Sub County have appealed to the Migori County government to address the dire state of roads, which they claim are in poor state.
Kevin Otieno, a rider in the area, said that the routes from Opapo to Lwala and Opapo to Sikwadhi are particularly in a sorry state, causing frustration for both riders and their passengers.
Otieno reported that the poor condition of these roads has led to frequent accidents, posing safety risks and hampering their ability to serve customers.
He urged the county government to prioritize repairs to restore safety and accessibility.
Echoing Otieno's concerns, fellow rider Wycliffe Onyango emphasized the negative impact of the roads on their livelihood.
He pointed out that, despite paying taxes, they feel let down by the lack of infrastructure support in their area.
