Mother and daughter killed in Kangundo-Mwala road accident

Both the boda boda and the lorry were headed towards Mwala direction.
The boda boda rider escaped unhurt.
The woman and her daughter were headed to Kangundo High School, where they live, with the husband working as a teacher.
The husband was travelling with them and was behind them on a separate boda boda.
Alexander Kilonzo, a bodaboda rider, expressed anger over the incient, saying many road users don't respect them.
He added that leaders have failed as they had left the roads in a poor state and failed to carry out repairs.
Kilonzo said that it was sad as the incident occurred 2 kilometres from Kangundo police station, yet it took over an hour for them to respond.
Dennis Zakayo, a rider, said that such accidents have been happening as the roads are in bad shape and leaders have given them a deaf ear.
He added that last night's accident was terrifying as the husband watched his wife and daughter being hit.
He called on road users to adhere to traffic rules and urged the government to see to it that lorries are restricted from night travels.
Lukhungu Matolo, a resident, said it was sad to have lost a colleague and daughter and called on leaders to see to it that the road is repaired.
Carlmax Ombasa, a teacher at Kangundo High School, said it was sad for his colleague teacher to lose his wife and daughter.
He called on leaders to repair the road.
The bodies were taken to Patjud funeral home by police from Kangundo as the lorry driver fled before an angry mob tried to burn the vehicle.
