Motorists plying the along Madogo-Garissa (A3) Road have been urged to be cautious amid potential flooding of the Tana River.
This comes as water levels in the river have risen following the ongoing rains.
According to the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), those plying the route should exercise caution.
“All travelers and road users have been advised to take caution as they approach the Madogo-Garissa road,” KeNHA said.
The heavy rains have led to increased water levels between Madogo Total Station, Mororo, and Tana River Bridge, signifying potential flooding.
“The Authority, however, remains hopeful that the upstream water levels remain within manageable thresholds.”
The Authority added that its officers are on the ground to monitor the situation.
“Adhere to the guidelines provided by the Authority and other government agencies staff on site. Your safety remains our responsibility,” KeNHA reiterated.
