Nyandarua boy, 9, dies by suicide at home

There was a somber mood in Njabini-Kibiru village, Kinangop constituency, Nyandarua County, on Wednesday after a nine-year-old boy was found hanging from the roof of the family’s chicken house.
The boy’s mother found the body after returning home from milking cows.
Confirming the incident, the police commander in Nyandarua County, Omar Arero, said that an investigation has been launched into the death of the Grade Five pupil.
The body was taken to the Engineer Hospital Mortuary in Nyandarua County.
This comes as awareness campaigns are heightened against cases of suicide as September is Suicide Prevention and Awareness month.
