One of the 16 children who were rescued from a house in Soweto, Kayole on Monday has been reunited with the family.
Njiru area DCI boss Simon Waithaka said investigations are ongoing, with some of the cases dating back to 2018.
This comes as parents trooped to Kayole police station in numbers, with some cases dating back to as far
James Maina from Kirinyaga County, who visited the station, said his child went missing in 2021
Parents of missing children have decried lack of coordination in the process
“We were not allowed to meet the children. No concrete information was given either. How will they identify my child yet they do not have any photo?” Gabriel Mungai, a parent, questioned.
Police suspect that the 16 children were meant to be trafficked to an unknown location.
Investigations have heightened as the two suspects, who were arraigned on Tuesday, remain in custody pending the mention of the case on February 29 this year.
The two have been identified as Linet Akinyi and a Tanzanian national named Isaack Mwanjeka.
