Over 10,000 litres of illicit brew seized in Kangemi

Police officers are trailing suspects behind the sale of illicit brew in Kangemi, Nairobi County.

This is after officers from Nairobi Region conducted a raid at the premises in Dagoretti.

Police said over 10,000 litres of kangara were destroyed, along with 50 kilograms of jaggery.

At the same time, police destroyed five packets of yeast catalyst, and thirteen cartons of second-generation liquor.

The authorities added that the recovered items have since been secured, and authorities are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the illegal trade.

In a similar operation on Tuesday, a multi-agency security team destroyed 2,500 litres of kangara and other brewing equipment in Kasarani.
