Over 200 families left homeless as fire breaks out in Kibra

More than 200 families were forced to sleep in the cold following a fire incident at Kichinjio area in Kibra Sub County, Nairobi.

Witnesses told Citizen Digital that the fire destroyed homes and business premises.

Residents have reported that efforts to extinguish the fire were hampered by narrow roads, which prevented fire engines from accessing the scene.

According to the authorities, no injuries were reported as a result of the inferno.

The incident which comes just a few weeks after eight people lost their lives in the area.

Meanwhile, residents have appealed to the county government and the Red Cross to provide emergency aid to the affected families.
