Police hunt down suspects behind killing of a police reservist in Trans Nzoia

Police in Trans Nzoia are hunting down suspects linked to the killing of a National Police Reservist (NPR) in Waituluk area.

Kiminini Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) John Onditi said officers from Kitale are probing the incident that saw the victim, identified as Evans Barasa, hacked to death.

"The body of the victim was found in a sugarcane plantation in the area by residents. We suspect that the deceased tried to prevent a robbery," Onditi said.

A G3 rifle was stolen from the officer, whose body has been taken to Kitale Level Four Hospital Mortuary.

Meanwhile, members of the public have been urged to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
