Investigations are underway after three people, including two underage boys, were lynched by a mob at Kamukuya main market in Kimilili town, Bungoma county, on Thursday.
The three were accused of attacking residents using crude weapons and stealing from them.
A section of residents said their businesses and income have been affected by insecurity in the area, adding that the trio had been targeting shops between 8pm and 9pm.
They called on the government to beef up security in the area.
The bodies were taken to Webuye General Hospital mortuary.
