Rehabilitation Centre changing lives in Langas

From the teachings they received, the victims say the centre has helped them change from miserable life of to soberness.
More than 40 people in
Yamumbi area, Langas, Uasin Gishu County have quit drinking after a
rehabilitation centre in the area came to their rescue.

“I have been an
alcoholic for a long time; sleeping in filthy places, fighting with my wife and
finally breaking up with my family because of alcohol. I am glad that since I
joined the centre, I become a better person both physically, mentally and emotionally.
It has brought a new dawn to our lives,” says of the people who have benefited
from the Rehabilitation Centre.
Maina Njagi, the founder of the foundations
says he started up the centre after
seeing the youth in the area lost in drugs and alcohol and not being productive.
He urges the government to help in reducing alcohol usage in the area
“Alcoholics are like
patients we need to treat… alcohol make people lose focus in life and if we help
them, we will enable them reunite with their families and get back to their
normal lives and be better people the society.”
