Police in Kasarani Constituency, Nairobi have been urged to conduct overnight patrols amid growing insecurity.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, residents in Kasarani, Mwiki and Hunters said there is a spike in robbery incidents in the areas.

According to locals, the unknown gang has been terrorizing business owners, with the latest victims of the attacks being those adjacent to St. Francis Hospital in Kasarani.

"I got to work this morning, only to find the door wide open. The thieves made away with two gas cylinders, among other assorted items," Hellen Maina, a trader, said.

The gun wielding gang operates in the thick of the night, when most businesses have closed shop.

"The gunmen recently broke into a shop here in Kasarani before fleeing on two motorbikes, " a night guard said.

Following the series of robberies, locals traders and residents have called on the government to increase police surveillance in order to ensure safety for locals.
